National Saltwater Angler Registry

All NJ Saltwater Anglers be aware that you must be registered to fish in New Jersey waters. Its easy to do and best of all... its free (for this year anyway). Early reports show that they are actively checking cards during the spring flounder and striper seasons. If they are checking this close now wait until the summer and the fair weather anglers hit the water that are not prepared. Again it is easy and free. With any luck maybe we can get better information for controlling our stocks and our fishing rights. To sign up click here.

Hurricane Train

With Danielle passing well offshore we avoided any damage but we also avoid any change in water temps. I was reading 79-81 degrees on Saturday. Now we have Earl knocking on the door with the potential to put a hurting on the last few days of the 2010 Fluke Season. While it isn't the best weekend to go tearing up the coast we will need help getting those temps down if we want to see stripers before December. With any luck Earl and another depression building behind will give us the breaks in temp without the destruction.

I wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day... Let the fall begin!
